Lens Caps

Probably the one thing that causes more blank pictures than anything else is the lens cap. Many times you will take your favorite picture only to find out it comes up all black. Usually the main problem is the lens cap was not removed and your problem is cured. The lens cap is something often overlooked as a vital part of your cameras equipment. Lens caps are put their for a reason and that is to protect the lens. People sometimes toss these things about thinking nothing will ever hurt their camera and that is the furthest thing from the truth.

I can't how many times friends of mine have tossed them away only to go buy one later when they see the damage done to their cameras. Lens caps are something that I think people take for granted for a number of different reasons. let's look at some of these reasons. Lens caps protect the lens which is the most vital part of your camera. A scratch lens is something you can really fix and replacing lenses can get real expensive real quick. One of my favorite reasons to always have a lens cap is when you put your camera anywhere you never know what could happen. Kids could come by and spill something and without the lens cap protecting it bad things could happen.

Lens caps are alot better made now than they have ever been made. One piece of advice a friend gave me which is great have more than one lens cap laying around. I yours break or something it's always better to have another one around than being unprotected. This is very good advice and I follow today. With the prices of digital cameras going up all the time and these are consider investments isn't it about time we protect our investments. Getting lens caps are a sure fire way to protect the lens and with the cost pretty cheap it's a great preventive measure. Lens caps are something you should consider when you make your next camera purchase. Usually all new cameras come with them, but grabbing a couple extra lens caps probably won't hurt at all just in case of an emergency. You never know what will happen and it's been to be prepared than to feel bad if something happens to your camera because you didn't have one.
