Wedding Photography Duties

A wedding is among the most wonderful events in our lives and a photographer plays an important role on the day of a wedding and reception. A wedding photographer takes great pleasure in taking picture perfect moments during the day, so the bride and groom have a physical reminder of the affection and enjoyment they shared with each other. These feelings will last forever.

Creating a solid relationship with the wedding couple is very important, as a wedding photographer’s role commences well before the wedding actually occurs. There are often several appointments with prospective customers, as they try to determine which photographer should be selected to photograph their wedding and reception. The professional photographer shoots pictures of numerous elements of the wedding day and then edits and prepares the images as soon as the wedding has ended. Their job doesn’t end until the photos are reproduced and delivered to the customers and it is important for the couple to be completely satisfied throughout this entire process.

Based on the offer the bride and groom select, the professional photographer normally takes pictures of any or all of the following elements of the wedding day: the wedding couple getting ready for their wedding day, the wedding ceremony, the couple (along with their families and bridal party) after the service, the reception (head table, first dance, cake cutting, etc..). Many wedding photographers also include a unique engagement photo for the couple, as part of their wedding package.

A wedding photographer actually has quite a range of responsibilities that have to be completed in order to capture your “picture perfect” wedding day. These may include:

- Supplying fantastic images of the wedding ceremony to the couple.

- Building a good solid rapport and interacting with the bride and groom.

- Recognizing the requirements and hopes of the wedding couple.

- Staying knowledgeable of a broad array of digital photography tools.

- Sustaining the condition of all gear and props.

- Being familiar with and making the most of the different effects light and shadows have on individuals and their environment.

- Choosing the best area or background for the pictures.

- Understanding the kinds of poses and a variety of angles to ensure perfect pictures of the couple, family members and wedding party.

- Supervising and dealing with personnel.

- Developing and enhancing the images.

- Completing budgeting, pricing, billing and accounting responsibilities.

Camera Lens F-Stop Values Explained

Lens aperture settings are commonly knows as f-stops. The letter "f" is an abbreviation of the term "focal-ratio", which describes the ratio of the lens's focal length to the diameter of the light entrance pupil (more commonly called the aperture). The standard sequence of f-stops is: f/1.4 f/2 f/2.8 f/4 f/5.6 f/8 f/11 f/16 f/22 On this scale, an f/1.4 setting is the largest aperture, while f/22 is the smallest, and each f-stop in the sequence is half the size of its neighbour to the left, and twice the size of its neighbour to the right. In other words, f/5.6 permits the passage of twice as much light as f/8, but only half the light of f/4. Low f-stop numbers represent larger apertures, and higher f-stop numbers indicate smaller apertures because the f-stop is a ratio is between the size of the aperture and the focal length of the lens; i.e. a bigger number represents a larger difference. Here's the maths for a 50mm lens. f-stop / Diameter (...

Automatically Update Your Facebook Page From Your Photo Blog

This video shows you step by step how to automatically create a post on your Facebook wall whenever you add a new post to your blog, without needing to do any extra work. This is a great way to keep people coming back to your website every time you add something new, espcially when you get to the stage where your Facebook page has hundreds, and even thousands of fans. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that there are many app’s that will post your blog to a tab on your Facebook page, but this is virtually worthless. You see the only way people will come and check out your stuff is if it gets posted on their wall via your wall. And the best way to do this is to create a direct link between your blog and your Facebook wall using the method showed in this video, rather than using one of the Facebook app’s that simply creates a tab called ‘Blog’. For some people this may seem fairly advanced, but the reason I’ve included it is because it can be very powerful for yo...
