Infrared Filters

Infrared filters is a filter that removes visible light and only pass infrared light in different wavelengths. The basic premise of infrared filters is the block regular light rays out and let infrared rays through to give you some great pictures. Sony actually had these on their cameras a few years ago, but quickly took them off when people were using them for things that were deemed inapproriate. Infrared filters can actually take your picture taking to an all new level. Just like anything else though infrared filters have they detractors too.

 Many will tell you they are a waste of money, but that hasn't stop them from making infrared filters. many aftermarkets exist and are continually being made for cameras. Some companies have decided not to go that way, but many otherwise have and these infrared filters continue to be one of the more popular filters on the market today and probably will be for sometime. Infrared filters are usually used by professionals, but in recent years the amateur photographer has been more into it than ever before.


The goal of any photographer is to get better pictures and infrared filters are a very good way to do that. You can take your picture taking to the next level with these filters. One of things though that you will have to watch out for is to make sure it fits on your camera. With so many aftermarket products out their making sure it will work on your camera is almost an essential. People who see some of the pictures take with infrared filters are astonished at the quality and clarity of the pictures. Infrared filters have found a nice niche in photography and it seems to grow everyear. Infrared camera filters are going to continue to grow as long as people get good results with them. The proof in the pudding is the pictures and they help you take a picture that you normally wouldn't be able to get. Infrared filters are something that more people are going to try as they see what they can do. For the most part though infrared filters have been a filter than many people still don't understand about. Hopefully in the future they will better understand how it works and what it can really do for you and your picture taking.

Lens aperture settings are commonly knows as f-stops. The letter "f" is an abbreviation of the term "focal-ratio", which describes the ratio of the lens's focal length to the diameter of the light entrance pupil (more commonly called the aperture).
