Neutral Density Filters

Neutral density filters reduce light of all wavelengths or colors equally. The real purpose of neutral density filters are to allow a photographer to be able to have great control over the aperture or exposure time. Neutral density filters let you for example slow down your lens which will let you slow down what you capture on fill. Take a waterfall example it flows at a great rate. By using the neutral density filter you can slow down in the picture that you take how fast it moves. Neutral density filters are d\used for many options just like this.

Slowing down athletes running and jumping is just another use of the neutral density filters. These filters cam make a variety of different pictures better, but their are a few drawbacks that you will need to consider. The neutral density filter does slow down what you take, but it can also effect the color in your picture at times. Many people fail to realize this and when the picture isn't to their liking they blame the camera or the filter which it isn't it's fault. When you use filters you can't expect everything to be perfect because it won't. It's a fact of life.

The neutral density filter though gives you the best option of capturing what you want at a slower speed. With a little practice you should be able to get real good at it. Always remember though it takes time to master using neutral density filters and shouldn't be something that you just buy and think you will have instant success. it just doesn't work that way. It would be nice to think it would but we are taking about cameras and so many things can effect what your picture looks like. Neutral density filters vary in price so comparison shopping is probably something you may want to consider. Finding the right one for your model of camera may take some time so do some research on the Internet to find which one does the best job for the camera you own. It looks like neutral density filters will be around for a long time in the future as it gives the photographer something else to add to his array of things he can try when he takes pictures. I guess you can never have enough tools as people would say.
